Jayson arrived in Terlingua in 1976 with a guitar and no plan. She stayed long enough to become one of the last living chroniclers of old Big Bend — writer, postmaster, witness to a vanishing world.

Her three memoirs map a complete arc. Before We Were Found is the joy that came first. Borderline is the trauma she survived. The Heart Remembers is the healing she chose, where consciousness began. Highway 118™ is the imprint that carries those works into film.
